Spangle, the American Bears
(white, red or blue face)

Materials for White Face Bear:

2 1/2 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
34 navy blue pony beads
27 white pony beads
21 red pony beads
3 black pony beads
scrap pieces of 1/8 inch white and red ribbon
silver sequin stars (optional)

Special Instructions:  After completing the pattern, randomly glue on the sequin stars if desired.  I used silver stars since I had them on hand.  You can be creative and come up with something different for the stars if you can’t find the sequin stars.  Another idea would be to use a fine point white craft paint pen to draw on white stars.  The pattern looks cute even without the stars! Take the scrap pieces of ribbon and weave them through the last bead of the row consisting of 4 beads (under the nose).  Tie a bow and add a drop of glue to the knot to secure.
